Dr Pallavi Desai is an Obstetrician and Gynaecologist with over 30 years of clinical experience across India and Australia, including rural and metropolitan practice. Since 2018, she has been practising in Melbourne and currently consults at Joan Kirner Women’s and Children’s at Sunshine Hospital, and performs gynaecological procedures at John Fawkner Private Hospital, NorthPark Private, and Epworth Freemasons.
Her clinical interests include early pregnancy management, abnormal uterine bleeding, menopause care, endometriosis, fertility, prolapse, and urinary incontinence. She provides both medical and surgical management across a broad range of gynaecological conditions and has a particular interest in pelvic floor disorders.
Dr Desai is guided by a strong commitment to respectful, individualised care. She supports women in making informed decisions about their health and recognises the broader impact that women’s health has on families and communities. She is also an advocate for gender-diverse and neurodivergent patients.
In addition to her clinical work, Dr Desai is involved in teaching and mentoring junior doctors and has held leadership roles within RANZCOG. She has completed a Master of Health Administration with a focus on Digital Health and maintains an interest in the integration of technology to support safe and accessible care.
