Consultation fees Our fees are designed to make prompt, emergency specialist healthcare accessible to all Australians regardless of the time of day or night.

No referral required

The following fees are payable only once per clinical episode/health concern, and are applicable if you do not have a current referral from your GP or other medical specialist. This pathway allows rapid access to our emergency specialists without the delay of needing to see a GP first.

Any subsequent consultations with your VEMSA emergency specialist to follow up the same concern are bulk billed, with no additional fees.

If you have a referral to VEMSA from your GP

If you have a GP referral addressed to VEMSA Emergency Specialists, this will enable your consultation to be bulk billed regardless of the time of your consultation.

Please upload this referral when completing your online booking form or email it to admin@vemsa.com.au ahead of your consultation, and use the code GPREFERRAL.

Standard consultation fees above will apply if we do not receive a valid referral letter.

Your consultation with VEMSA: what’s included

• Guaranteed secure video consultation with an Australian AHPRA-registered emergency medicine specialist
• Medication prescriptions where clinically appropriate, sent straight to your mobile via SMS to bring to your local pharmacy
• Pathology and radiology requests, with bulk billed imaging available for eligible indications at participating radiology providers
• Medical certificates, emailed directly to you
• Specialist referrals where clinically indicated, including streamlined access to VEMSA’s Australia-wide network of medical specialists
• Coordination with your GP to support collaborative care when required
• Follow-up of pathology and radiology results ordered by VEMSA
• Follow-up VEMSA consultations for the same clinical episode for no additional fees
