When to Call VEMSA

If you or someone close to you is experiencing symptoms of a stroke (facial drooping, arm weakness, speech difficulty), fit (seizure), sudden chest pain, loss of consciousness, severe difficulty breathing, uncontrolled bleeding, major trauma, or other life-threatening condition CALL TRIPLE ZERO IMMEDIATELY.

VEMSA is here for urgent, non-life-threatening health concerns that require timely medical assessment and advice.

When you or a loved one is unwell, in pain, or distressed, VEMSA provides Australia-wide access to experienced, emergency-trained clinicians who can assess your situation, provide guidance, and determine the most appropriate next steps.

Virtual care is offered only when it is clinically safe to do so. If your condition is not suitable for telehealth management, you will be directed promptly to the most appropriate in-person care pathway.
