For Hospitals and Health Partners

VEMSA is designed to integrate with existing healthcare systems and service models to support safe, timely, senior clinical decision-making when patients require urgent assessment or escalation.

We partner with hospital providers, community healthcare organisations, and hospital-at-home services to strengthen care pathways, improve coordination, and ensure patients are directed to the most appropriate setting at the right time.

Supporting healthcare providers with senior clinical oversight and escalation capability, VEMSA provides access to senior emergency medicine specialists who can support you in managing your patients in non-hospital settings, including:

By adding specialist-level clinical oversight, VEMSA helps clinicians to manage risk, identify deterioration early, and escalate appropriately when in-person care or hospital admission becomes necessary.

Virtual entry points and admission coordination

For private hospitals and healthcare facilities without a physical emergency department, VEMSA can provide a virtual emergency medicine entry point, enabling rapid senior assessment, risk stratification, and care coordination.

Where admission is clinically required and feasible, we can facilitate direct admission to public or private hospitals using our clinical networks. This may also support earlier discharge from hospital when safe to do so, with ongoing virtual clinical review and escalation pathways in place.

We recognise that admission pathways are influenced by real-world constraints, including bed availability, specialty access, local policies, and patient-specific factors. Where direct admission is not possible, we direct your patients to the safest alternative pathway.

Enabling safe care beyond the hospital setting

VEMSA works collaboratively with community and hospital-at-home providers to support hospital-level care delivered outside traditional inpatient settings when clinically appropriate. While keeping patients out of hospital when safe to do so is a shared objective, we recognise that the challenge lies in executing this safely. Our role is to contribute:

This supports safer delivery of care at home, in residential facilities, or in other community settings, while maintaining clear thresholds for escalation to hospital care.

A collaborative approach

In a complex healthcare system, no single organisation can meet every need. VEMSA’s model is designed for collaboration and integration into your patient’s existing care team, working alongside hospitals and community healthcare providers to complement, not compete.

Our focus is on helping patients remain safe by ensuring they are directed to the right channel at the right time, with senior clinical oversight and continuity.
