Dr Al-Mukhtar is an Australian-trained cardiologist specialising in general, interventional, and structural heart diseases. He has undertaken extensive fellowship training in various high-profile hospitals across Victoria and has performed thousands of cardiac procedures, including coronary angiograms, coronary stents, complex imaging and assessment procedures, heart valve replacements and repairs, and more.
Outside of caring for patients, Dr Al-Mukhtar is involved in clinical research and trials for new cardiovascular therapies and technologies. He is the author of several research articles published in leading international journals, and is also passionate about training junior doctors in the field of cardiology.
